Hello,
I'm new to Wirecast and interested in setting up a multicam shoot. -2 cameras with HD-SDI outputs -2 webcams Is there a recommended piece of hardware that interfaces with Wirecast that you'd recommend? Is it worth considering (does it exist?) hardware that has HDMI / HD-SDI inputs that also encodes to H.264 so that the load of the CPU is lightened? Thanks much! |

For input the most affordable and flexible is Blackmagic UltraStudio MiniRecorder which can use either HDMI or SDI. It's about $145 US
Wirecast generally doesn't accept H.264 encoded sources. It's actually much harder on the CPU. Wirecast needs to decode the source for switching and compositing so uncompressed sources are best. My preference for webcam is Logitech C920 but C930e is also good. Here's the list of input devices we've tested or the manufacturer has tested. http://www.telestream.net/wirecast/devices.htm#capture ------------------------- CraigS Telestream Desktop Forum Moderator |
