Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone has had any success using a QT movie to play lower 3rd animations? From what i can tell wirecast only supports the alpha channel on image files not on QT movies. Does anyone know of a workaround for this or maybe i am missing something entirely. Thanks in advance!

It'll support animation codec alpha channels for sure. I currently use some.

I do hope that we have online tutorials at some point. Wirecast is very open ended so sometimes different people will do different things to get a similar solution.

I use Skype Video on the streaming computer. Desktop Presenter sends the video to Wirecast. SoundFlower sends the audio. It's a bit more complex than that but that's the fundamental. Others build "Skypasaurus" and some "virtual Skypasaurus" with virtual operating systems. Others might use Oovoo instead of Skype as it allows up to six way video calling.

you know i tried using dp over my intranet. Literally a PC on the same workstation right next to my imac but for some reason when trying to stream over using dp its very choppy. Now i only tested with a QT movie, not a skype video call, this was my first attempt to find a solution to my video rollin timing problem. I did however have succes using the same imac with a skype video call using dp to detect my skype window this was the audio was already there.. however i know my cpu was taking a hit affecting my over broadcast fps. anyideas why the movies playing ove the LAN via DP was so lagged out?

If you're using it on Windows make sure it's version 1.0.4. Mac version is 1.0.3. Test toggling the 3D checkbox.
I can get nearly full 30fps from an old PentiumD when targeting a site like Hulu and sending it to my Mac.

It's an audio only server. They do that so everyone can speak to each other and have that streamed along with the video. He's doing it get around the issue of how to send audio from multiple virtual operating systems. On the Mac you may be able to do that with the free SoundFlower which sends all the audio to Wirecast but all the callers need to hear each other too. This is where it can get complex if you have more than one caller. One way around that is to use Oovoo which allows 6 video calls.
