I'm trying to get my CPU usage down on my main broadcast machine.

So I'm wondering about this.

Set a Wirecast external display output to an HDMI connection on my video card.

Use a cable to connect it to an intensity shuttle and use USB 3 to import into a 2nd machine.

Have the second machine (also running Wirecast) do the encoding and recording and leave the first machine doing just the switching.

Does this make sense?

Any advice appreciated.

Kerry

Make sure you're getting both audio and video out. Some people have had audio issues.
Please make sure the Intensity Shuttle works on the receiving computer but it should work.
Keep in mind you may need two Wirecast licenses.

First... I am a HUGE fan of Wirecast. Second, Kerrya... you could get around the Wirecast additional license by simply using OBS as a strictly streaming PC. Do all the hard work with Wirecast and then use OBS to push it out to your CDN. I do that and it works out pretty well.
