Hey there
Any idea why publishing to YouTube is not working for me anymore? It worked the first time, but then I changed YouTube accounts, and now I keep on getting this error message: "Upload To YouTube Failed - Please try your upload again. The error massage returned was "bad request". " Any suggestions? ------------------------- 10 FREE Videos Shows You How To Set Up Your Blog Step-By-Step... http://becomeablogger.com |

This might be a strange request but if you wait a few hours and try again does it work?

I am having the exact same problem
I'm pretty upset because the whole reason why I paid $30 for the upgrade to 2.0 was to be able to publish to Youtube (I did not change Youtube accounts like the above poster -- it just broke... it worked the first time, and never again) |

Please provide more info. It's hard to trouble shoot a general statement. Have you updated to 2.0.1?
We're getting some reports of this but without specifics we can't determine why it's failing for some people. Please read READ BEFORE POSTING at the top of the forum and provide all the info including the settings you're using. ------------------------- CraigS Telestream Desktop Forum Moderator |

Hey Craig
I have just tried uploading a video again using the "Publish To YouTube..." function. But I am still getting the same error message. Here are the steps I am taking: 1. Record video using Screenflow 2. Edit and save video using Screenflow 3. Click on "File" and then "Publish To YouTube..." 4. Then I can see how the file gets processed, and even uploaded to YouTube (looking at the visual progress bar indicator). But then, as soon as it's finished uploading to YouTube, it gives me that error message that I mentioned: "Upload To YouTube Failed - Please try your upload again. The error massage returned was "bad request". " Any more ideas on this? It's driving me crazy! Could it be because I am using more than one YouTube account for this? The first one I did worked fine, but then I tried it with another YouTube account, and that is when it stopped working for me. Please help! I had the same problem as Gideon ............ uninstalled 2.1 - reinstalled 2.0, trashed preferences, tried different computers, tried different Youtube account.......Nothing worked..............that is UNTIL I realized that ScreenFlow wants your YouTube Account Name, not your log-in username.......
Now that I am bald, my YouTube uploads work fine....... You May want to change something in that upload dialog box to make it idiot proof....... james |

Hey James
Very interesting... I had a look at our suggestion though, but could not find my YouTube Account Name - as far as I can tell, it's the same as my login username. Or is there a difference between the two? Please let me know James Would be very grateful! Talk soon! Some people are getting this error message
http://bit.ly/6kyBPj Is your's different Gideon? Can you post a screenshot? James solution might fix the error message I just posted a link to since it mentions an unlinked Google account which might indicate a name issue. Maybe there's a couple of different reasons for this issue. ------------------------- CraigS Telestream Desktop Forum Moderator |

When I put my YouTube account name, I got an error message that said "Bad request". After I tried my Google account name, I got the "forbidden error message" Craig put. Please help.

I'm getting this same error. The message off of the console is:
1/10/10 10:27:50 AM ScreenFlow[618] Error Error Domain=com.google.GDataServiceDomain Code=400 UserInfo=0x172f2f0 "The operation couldn’t be completed. (<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?><errors><error><domain>yt:validation</domain><code>too_long</code><location type='xpath'>media:group/media:keywords/text()</location></error></errors> It seems that the issue is that the video is either too big or too long (given that too long could mean too long of a string). The problem with this is that the video is within Google's standards. |

Please read READ BEFORE POSTING at the top of the forum. It's impossible to trouble shoot with all the details.
I believe no one has posted on this thread since November is that recent updates have fixed this issue. Please update to ScreenFlow 2.0.2 and test. ------------------------- CraigS Telestream Desktop Forum Moderator |

Are you using ScreenFlow 2.0.2?
Did you read and follow jamesmaloy post above regarding use of YouTube Account name and not login username? We're going to make this a bit easier in the next update coming soon. ------------------------- CraigS Telestream Desktop Forum Moderator |

craig,
did all that and yes im on 2.02 Looks like a small quick video will work, but when i want to put up something more substantial, I get the error. you tube has a 10minute limit and this video is less than that, so it seems to me that you tube is not liking something related to the encoding that screenflow does while uploading. So it appears the workaround is just to export to desktop and then upload to you tube the old fashioned way. Ill look forward to any fixes you guys release on this feature, as Im always trying to streamline workflow. Good news. I checked Gideon's report and the techs say they've checked the fix and it'll be in the next update. I can't give an exact date but it should be soon.
