Hi there,
I must convert MOV files (dv-pal) to MPEG1 and I'm wondering if it's possible to tell Episode Pro to limit the total data size to (say) 6MB for a 30 sec movie instead of setting the bit rate value or the quality percentage. Or do I have to try different settings till the moment I find the good ones ? Thanks for helping... |

You can come close with a calculator. File size is the result of date rate times duration. There are lots of free data rate file size calculators online. Quality may depend on frame size and frame rate. If you have less bits per second, you'll improve quality with smaller frame size and increasing sharpness (at the expense of temporal motion) by lowering the frame rate. That's why simple size limiters really aren't the most effective. Doing a little math will yield much better results aiming for a target.
